Super Spindle M27 Apple Trees - Update!

So I thought we should post an update on the M27 Mini Apple Orchard with the Trees in full leaf and wire in place as needed. They have rooted in very well and are enjoying their northerly aspect. We plucked all fruit off early this season so as to allow the energy to go into the root system. As I write this they are budding up "very" well for next years fruiting season. Stay tuned for some delicious preserve recipes..

Poles for Apple Trees

Well we have finally made a start on the Apple Orchard (small that it is) @ Cambridge Farm. Of course there is a bit of infrastructure that needs to be installed before the trees are planted.

Shown here are the end poles to secure the tensioned wire too.

We are planting a total of 12 M27 Apple Trees of different varieties in this space @ 30cm apart.
The trees we have chosen will provide fruit from mid February through to late August.

Vertical Apple Trees! An interesting find on a recent trip to the Huon Valley. The grower says the secret is in 'dwarf stock'. And we say it makes them easier to pick!

Willies Wasp Trap

Willies Wasp Trap - Hang a bottle, as shown, from the lower branches of the fruit tree. Put a hole in it and a little water. Willy says pests drown in the water. Give it a go, and tell us how it works for you.
